1 Steam Locomotive cylinders – fractured – pretty standard metalock repair – though access is at arms length and parent bore thickness can vary widely.



2 Bugatti Block cylinder fractured – new section machined up and metalocked into position – no heat / predictive results.

3 Puffing Billy Climax Boiler Saddle [blast pipe casting] was corroded badly and fractured across neck. Flange section was removed and new piece machined / made up in cast iron and metalocked onto casting.


4 Bechstein Piano Frame – we probably average 3-4 a year – not just Bechstein but Steinway and others. Usually 2- 3 cracks per frame requiring a few locks per fracture. High tensile Nickel alloy is used to maintain strength as they are under high load – tonality is unchanged.
