Major Failure Auxiliary Engine - Daihatsu PS-26H
Emergency repair carried out on vessel whilst loading in port. Works included cut out damaged sections on both sides of entablature and “A” frame, cracktest immediate areas, machine up high grade Cast Iron sections [which were in stock as we had these materials especially cast / stored for such emergencies.] and remove broken studs. Fit CI pieces and Metalock into position. Utilising 5 Technicians – 5 days [includes survey, preparations and travel] were required to finish repairs to complete satisfaction of Chief Engineer.
