Drum brake closer

The wheels keep turning for Australia’s largest Cable manufacturer.

20 odd years ago this large Drum brake closer was Metalock repaired and remained in service until an accident smashed unit causing severe damage. Metalock of Australia P/L was again contacted to undertake repair / reconditioning of brake drum closer.

Works included: Cut away damaged / previously repaired areas. Dial up / set circumference and clamp as required. [Size 1.4m diameter].  Make up 3 spokes and 1 peripheral section and metalock into position [approximately 100 No. 4 locks used]; then finish machine. Repairs were completed in 7 days - and as their Production manager joked. “These brakes don’t stop when they’ve been metalocked”.
